Coinstore Faces Access Block Amid Security Response – Users from Certain Regions Report “Inaccessible Trading”
May 23, 2025
Global cryptocurrency exchange Coinstore is currently facing criticism after users from several regions reported severe access and trading issues, following a wave of security measures taken in response to external attacks. These access restrictions appear to have started between May 21 and 22, and as of May 23, the platform remains highly unstable, with most trading functions effectively unavailable.
🔐 Legitimate Users Unintentionally Affected by Security Blocks
In response to an inquiry from this outlet, Coinstore stated that it is undergoing “system maintenance and enhanced security measures to stabilize the platform,” and emphasized that no specific countries have been intentionally restricted. However, it appears that some legitimate user IPs were unintentionally included in the broader range of blocked addresses during the anti-attack filtering process.
One affected user reported, “Access was denied with a message indicating that my IP belongs to a restricted region. Even when attempting access via bypass methods, the site behaved abnormally.”
🛠️ System Upgrade Notification and Temporary Trading Suspension
Coinstore subsequently issued an official notice late on May 22, announcing a scheduled system upgrade through the early hours of May 23. As a result, all trading, deposits, and withdrawals have been temporarily suspended. The platform has assured users that all assets remain safe and that services will be gradually restored once maintenance is complete.
In addition, the exchange has started collecting affected IP addresses from users to whitelist and restore access, requesting cooperation from users experiencing difficulties.
